If you’ve been following my content for a while now, you will know that I am a huge advocate of using low competition keywords for your SEO, particularly for your blog. Using low-competition keywords is often the best way to make your mark on Google rankings and I’m always looking for new tools.
Recently, I purchased LowFruits.io on a Black Friday deal, and now I’m going to share with you a LowFruits.io review and guide so you can decide if you can use the tool for your own SEO efforts.
LowFruits.io is a fairly new keyword research tool, so we’ll start with the basics.
What Is LowFruits.io?
LowFruits is a keyword research tool that provides low-competition keywords for your website. By using low-competition keywords, you should rank faster on Google’s search engine results than if you were to use high-competition keywords.
LowFruits creates lists of recommended longtail keyword ideas straight from Google, so you can be sure that the keywords suggested are being searched on Google, as well as easy for you to rank for.
Who should use LowFruits?
LowFruits.io is suitable for anyone looking to improve their website’s SEO, from small business owners to advanced SEO specialists. If you are looking to rank on Google’s SERPs for relevant keywords to your industry, LowFruits will provide you with the low-competition keywords you need to get there faster.
What are the benefits of using LowFruits?
LowFruits makes it easy to find crazy low competition keywords related to your seed keyword, which is one of the main reasons for this LowFruits.io review. I REALLY love this tool!
Of course, there are other tools you can use to do this, but LowFruits has been designed with low-competition keywords in mind, meaning you can find keywords in your niche that you can rank for quickly.
One of my favourite features is that within their keyword reports, LowFruits will highlight weak spots within the current search engine listings for that keyword. This means that you can see keywords that have weak spots, making them even easier for you to target!

- Green: The website has a low domain authority
- Blue: The result is a forum post or UGC content
- Yellow: Your website, so you already feature in the top SERPs for the keyword

Is LowFruits beginner friendly?
I should preface this by saying that I have used other keyword research tools in the past, so I know a thing or two about the stats provided and how to choose the right seed keyword to get the best results. That being said, LowFruits provides prompts when you sign up to walk you through the process, as well as helpful guidelines on what each of their stats means within your keyword report.
The interface is slick and well laid out, meaning with a little tinkering once you sign up, you should have the hang of it in no time!
Compared to other keyword research tools, I would say LowFruits is very beginner friendly.
How to use LowFruits Keyword Finder
LowFruits Keyword Finder is where you will start using LowFruits, and probably where you will spend most of your time using the tool.
You start out by entering your seed keyword here:
Make sure to change the country and language settings to suit your needs, as this will influence your results.
I’ve used a very broad seed keyword for this search and gone with “web design”. Here’s what my report looks like:
Until now, we haven’t used any credits to generate this report, which is why it’s fairly low on data. We’ll continue to use more free features to filter this down so you don’t use too many credits on long-tail keywords you won’t use.
This data can be very useful on its own, but if you have a huge amount of results and no idea about weak spots, search volume, word count, etc., it’s going to be pretty difficult to find the right keywords from this list.
Before using any credits, I recommend running through the following:
- Topic: Make sure the results only feature relevant topics
- Intent: This will depend on what pages you are planning to optimise. For blog posts, go for pre-purchase.
- Include: This will filter results to only include the words you list. For example, I might choose “tips”.
- Exclude: This will filter results to exclude the words you list. They have a few default options here, like including [country] to exclude all countries. I might also exclude “Wix”.
- #Words: You can filter by word count here (even though LowFruits isn’t showing you the word counts yet). You might exclude everything over 1,500 words, so you have an even better chance of outranking the content.
You may find that as you filter this list, you end up with 0 keywords. That means you have filtered too much and have run out of long-tail keywords, in which case you need to scale it back or try a different seed keyword to better suit your filtering.
You can also click “Fetch Volume” without using any credits, which may help you further to reduce the size of this list before you use your credits for the real data.
In the example below, I have done the following:
- Intent: Pre-purchase
- Include: “best”
- Exclude: [country]
Now, rather than 5,000+ results, I’m left with 166, and I have clicked “Fetch Volume”.
Most of these results are relevant to my website, but if they weren’t I would go through and manually remove any that weren’t a good fit.
Now, we’re ready to use some credits.
From this report, click on “Bulk select”, and you’ll notice this pop up:
Click on SERP Extr.
Now, your keywords list should look like this:
Look at all those weak spots!
We’ve already covered off what each colour means within weak spots, and each fruit symbol represents a different listing within the search engine results for that keyword.
When you hover over the fruit, you can find out what position the listing is in and the source.
This data, combined with the search volume and word count data for each long-tail keyword should give you everything you need to assess the keyword difficulty and decide if it’s a good fit for your website.
How to use LowFruits Reports
LowFruits Reports are where you will find all the seed keyword searches you have made on LowFruits Keyword Finder. Personally, I prefer to use Lists to keep this organised, but it’s useful to have if you want to search within a specific seed keyword rather than lists you have created for each website. Within your Reports, you will find all the extracted data on word count, SERPs, etc.
How to use LowFruits Lists
LowFruits Lists are my favourite way to keep track of various seed keyword searches, and their related longtail keywords. It’s particularly helpful if you work on multiple websites, or if you cover multiple topics on your website. For example, I may create a list for all topics related to web design, with seed keywords like “WordPress web design”, “website design”, “web designer”, etc. which would all be for Webhive Digital.
In reality, I use lists for each of my SEO clients to keep track of all the keyword research I’ve done for them so far.
How much does LowFruits cost?
LowFruits pricing has a few different options depending on what will suit you best.
For SEO specialists or niche bloggers, I would recommend signing up for a monthly subscription so you have new credits generated every month. By accurately filtering my initial keyword search results, I’ve found the Standard plan to be more than suitable for my needs.
Alternatively, LowFruits uses a pay-as-you-go model which would work great for more casual users. For the average website owner looking to optimise their existing pages and generate some blog post topics to see them through the next few months, I think their basic $25 package would work fine for this.
